TESS Community Action Center in Montgomery County, MD, recently shared this story with us about the impact of our hygiene kits.
A lady walked in looking for assistance and resources.
She had just paid her rent and had no money left to buy anything. She apologized because she did not “smell fresh” as she had run out of soap and shampoo.
She was given some hygiene kits. The elation! When she read the [encouraging] messages, she almost cried. Her outlook changed from sad and self-conscious to extremely joyful and uplifted!
The smile on her face said her confidence was restored.
She said, “I can use all of this; it is perfect! Thank you so much”!

Over the past year, Grace Helping Hands has continued to expand its outreach and distribute hundreds of kits through partner organizations across the region.
This October, we distributed our highest number of hygiene kits across Maryland and Washington, DC at 1,558 Kits!
Year End Goal
Our goal is to raise $5,000 by December 31.
We are 83% of the way to our 2026 goal of distributing 12,800. Any extra funds will ensure we start 2027 on the right foot!
Together, we can ensure our neighbors experience care, dignity, and hope not just during the holidays, but throughout the year.
